Q:  Is this site affiliated with NAR or other Multiple Listings Services?

A:  No not at all.  This site is totally independent and affiliates to no other organizations in or out of
the real estate industry.  We do however, have independent self contracted real estate professionals
(agents, loan officers, and home inspectors) who affiliate with us, to post their listings here to
interest U.S. Military Veterans and their families in their properties and services they provide.
Veterans who visit or participate in the site, or our sister site at www.VeteransRealEstate-Online.com
may contact these agents, loan officers, and home inspectors, directly for their respective services.

We are merely a site that recognizes that Veterans of our armed forces are unique in so many ways
and deserve the opportunity to have a site they can access, that focus on properties closest to their
military bases and within proximity where other Veterans live.  This site is unique in the sense that it
also enables Veterans to list and view properties that are owned by other Veterans and affords them
the ability to make direct contact with those "by owner" sellers, something not available through the
real estate Multiple Listing Service organizations.

Q:  When I register, and push submit, nothing happens?:

A:
That's because you have entered something wrong.  The three biggest culprits
are these 3 fields:

1.  Username:  use no space, no commas, no periods nor special characters.
2.  Password:   not enough characters (6 minimum)
3.  Website:     enter by including http://www. We've seen entries such as jondoe.com which
is missing data and program will not respond!  Should be http://www.jondoe.com

Hint:  If a function doesn't work, it usually posts a RED error message at the top of the page
so you know what is wrong and can
fix it.

After 2-3 tries, check this FAQ first, and if the problem isn't addressed here, and you still not able to
resolve the problem, please don't give up, just print out the page showing the data you enter in it,
and  FAX the page to 425-645-5373 or by email to info@veteransmls.com  so we may resolve the
problem and add tips here on the FAQ page for future encounters.

Q: How do I Edit my listing?

A:  Immediately after you input your listing and press ADD at the bottom of the form,
you will be given the opportunity to either "Preview the Listing" or "Edit the Listing"
And of course at the top of the same Page, you can "Save the Listing"

You can also manage your listings at any time (so long as you are logged in).
On the left menu column, click "My Listings" --- you will get a summary of your
listing and links will appear to view, edit or delete your listing.

If you have questions which could benefit other site users, email us with your
questions, so we can post them to this page with the appropriate answer.

Q:  How do I add photos?

A:  To add a photo as you are posting a listing:
1.  go to the very bottom of the listing form,
2.  Push the form that says ADD, you will see the button entitled ADD PICTURES.
3. .Be sure you add only .gif or .jpg formatted photos! (no thumbnail size)
4.  Don't forget to push "SAVE IT" after you uploaded the photo

A: To add a photo after you posted your listing:
1.  Sign in
2.  In the left menu, select "My Listings"
3.  All your listings will appear
4.  Select Edit Listing below the listing you wish to add photos to
5.  The Edit Form will come up and your ADD Photo's capability
appears at the top of the form.
6.  Be sure you add only .gif or .jpg formatted photos! (no thumbnail size)
7.  Don't forget to push "SAVE" after you uploaded the photo

Q:  How many photos can I post?

A:  Fifteen (15) total.  But when you add the photos to your listing, be aware
the first one you list, should be an exterior photo of the home.  The first photo
you add becomes the featured photo which will promote your listing on this site.

Q:  How can I edit my photos?

A:  First, be sure you are logged in.  Then you can select the "My Listings" link

in the left hand menu.  Your listings will appear and click the "edit" link under the
listing and your original input form with all the data for that listing will appear.

With the listing input form on your screen, look at the top area of the form and
you should see a link option entitled "Edit Pictures".  There's your answer.

By the way, if you didn't realize it, the first photo you uploaded will be the main photo
for your listing.  But don't fret if that's not the photo you want to feature the home with.
Just edit the photo and change the order in which they appear by following the steps
at the beginning of this Q/A on Editing Photos.  When you arrive at the edit photo page,
you will see the up and down arrows that allow you to move the photos up or down in
anyorder you wish to have them.

Q:  Why doesn't my property show up on the listing page map?

A:  First of all, realize that the error is not that of VeteransMLS.com.  The map feature
produces a map on your listing page when the program sends a property address to
Google Earth that Google's program can locate.

A good way to check if the problem is our site, merely log in, then click on "My Listings".
Then select "view listing" of the property in question, and you will notice a Google Map link
at the top of the page.

Click the Google Map link.  Google Maps will read the address of your listing manually and
attempt to display a map for it.  If the map didn't show up in
Veterans MLS, then chances
are high the address was not typed correctly.

For example, if a listing shows Kingsbay, GA for the city and state and doesn't show up,
perhaps it is because Google only recognizes the city name as Kings Bay, GA.
  Or,
perhaps the street address you put in your liisting was AV for the word avenue, but
Google shows it AVE or Avenue.  That is why we put the Google Maps link at the top
of the page, so you could change the listing address until the map shows up. This works
99.99% of the time.

Q:  What about Virtual Tours?

A.  Virtual Tour Link capability now online and works.  For those of you who may want to add
the link later after you added the listing, merely sign in, click on 'My Listings" and then choose
the appropriate listing, select "edit listing", and make your changes.  Don't forget to press SAVE
when you are finished adding the link or anyother changes you may have made to the listing.

Q:  Why won't my photos show up?

A.  For photos to upload successful, they need to be in .jpg (not .bmp nor gif) format.  They
need to be no larger than 200kb in file size.  Today's digital photo's are very large and of course
very nice.  But on internet, those larger digitals must be reduced down to fit on our system and
with all the files we have to maintain to keep the system operating, file space has to be used
efficiently.  Larger photo file sizes take longer to load and they take up valuable resources on
the site.  That is why your file may not have loaded.  If you still have problems, send us an email.

Q:  When discovering a problem with the program, why isn't a phone number
provided, so the problem can be solved by phone?

A:  There are several reasons we don't provide phone support.  First of all, the program very seldom
experiences problems.  Almost 98% of the time, problems users have, seldom require any technical
support.  Often a user is unfamiliar with the way the program works.

If a problem is discovered, we need a copy of the output, such as search results, a copy of the listing(s),
the error message you get; in essence any support information you have in hard copy you can attach to
an email will help immensely to resolve the problem.  This way we can share it with our staff and prioritize
the urgency of the toruble ticket.  You can't do that with a phone call.

And finally, we have a limited staff to support this online software.  As you can understand from the
previous paragraph, our need for supporting documentation for any trouble that is being experienced,
makes it necessary we use only email communications as it becomes the most efficient way to
support users as well.

Once you have submit your problem samples (error codes, input data, output data, etc),
then please allow 24-48 hours for resolution.

Q:  When adding listings, I get a message that I cannot add any more listings because
I have reached the limit.  What can I do now?

A:  The program has been developed to be totally automated as much as possible.  With that, there are some quirks about
it that can be inconvenient at times.  But there are reasons fore it.  For example, let's say that when you registered, we
allowed only 5 listings per person.  Well the program keeps track of it and established a 5 listing max.

So now, down the road, suppose the staff reached the decision to increase the limitation to 15 listing per person.
What happens is, anyone who registers after the change has been made, will be able to put in 15 listings maximum,
however, those persons who registered before the change, will still be limited to the 5, which was the maximum in
effect at the time of their registeration, and will remain in effect until the 6 month listing subscription expires.

But there is a way around it ---- merely register a second account, but this time, register with a
       new userid
.  This should now make it possible for you to obtain the maximum listing quantity in effect at the time.

By the way, for those of you who are not familiar with website management behind the scenes, we had to start out slow,
limiting the listings to only 5 at first.  This was because we were not sure at the time, whether it would send our system
crashing down by having to many online.  So as time goes by, we have been expanding the limitations as best we can,
but being careful not to expand so much or so fast that the systems goes down.

For being a FREE site and us sucking up all the expense without sponsors, how do you think we are doing so far?
There are quick polls we ask you to take in the left bottom corner of the home page.  We appreciate your feedback as
it strengthens our enthusiasm about this site and enables us to make improvements with your help ---
